Did you know that this week saw 45 deaths due to COVID-19 in total and the maximum recoveries in a day were 1,612 recorded on 27 April 2021, while 800 was the highest number of newly infected cases recorded on 22 April 2021? Here are the latest updated weekly trends in terms of recoveries, new cases and deaths related to the current COVID-19 situation.
From 22-28 April 2021, 1609 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks and 12 for violating the maximum number of people allowed in a vehicle in Qatar, 164for not adhering to physical distancing, 20for not following the rules regarding gatherings, 18for not following home quarantine rules and 12 for not downloading EHTERAZ on their phones. A total of 1,835 violationswere recorded from 22-28 April 2021.

From 800 new confirmed cases reported on 22 April, the numbers decreased to 798 the next day, after which it further decreased to 718 on 24 April, and then decreased to 705 on 25 April. The next day, 26 April, saw 703 new infections, followed by 695 and 690 on the next two consecutive days, and towards the end of the week.

From 976 recoveries from COVID-19 on 22 April, the numbers increased to 1,297 on 23 April, following which it further increased to 1,513 and then to 1,548 on 25 April. The numbers then stood at 1,578 and then increased to 1,612 in the following two days. The number of recoveries saw an increase to 1,606 on 28 April on the last day of the week.

Qatar started the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 on December 23, the second doses of the vaccine have also started. Here are some of the updates in Qatar:
As of 28 April 2021, a total of 1,496,833 vaccine doses have been administered in Qatar.
The Ministry of Public Health's online registration form for the COVID-19 vaccine is open to citizens and residents who want to register their desire to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
All individuals who have received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will automatically have a vaccination certificate available for them in the MyHealth Patient Portal.
Here are some important tips for people taking the COVID-19 vaccine, as said by MoPH official: - If a person had come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, the date for taking the second dose should be delayed for 14 days from the date of contact. - The person will be fully protected from COVID-19 infection after a week or two from taking the second dose of the vaccine.
Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Home Healthcare Service (HHS) has started administering the COVID-19 vaccine to its registered housebound patients to protect them against the disease.
Ministry of Public Health urges people over 60 years old and have not received COVID-19 vaccination yet to call 4027 7077 and book an appointment.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) tweeted that it is possible to travel abroad immediately after receiving the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal in a MoPH press conference mentioned that the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines being used in Qatar are effective against the new variants.
MoPH updated that: - Only people who are receiving their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can visit the Drive-Through in Lusail and Wakra COVID-19 Vaccination Center in a car or suitable vehicle. - People who don't own a vehicle can visit the centre in a taxi to get their 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to MoPH, 7 days after the second dose of the vaccine, a Golden Frame will appear around the QR code in the app. In the “Vaccination” tab, your vaccination details will be displayed after 7 days from the second dose, including the date of the doses and the name of the vaccine received.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) clarified that there is no evidence that any of the vaccines can affect the fertility of women or men.

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has announced that it has lowered the age threshold for COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to 35 years of age.
One in three adults in Qatar has been vaccinated with, at least, one COVID-19 vaccine dose, according to the Government Communications Office.
PHCC announced that the working hours at QNCC COVID-19 vaccination centre will be in two shifts - the first from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm, with the last entry at 03:00 pm, and the second from 07:00 pm to 01:00 am, with the last entry at midnight. The timings are the same for all seven days of the week.
The Ministry of Public Health issued an update on the entry requirements to the State of Qatar. MoPH announced the need for all travelers coming to the State of Qatar to conduct a COVID-19 examination at a medical center accredited by the local Ministry of Health in the country they are coming from within 72 hours before their arrival in the State of Qatar. This new protocol will take effect from April 25, 2021.
The Ministry of Public Health has issued an update to the quarantine protocol and testing of persons for Coronavirus (COVID-19), which includes the rules for exempting COVID-19 recovered people from quarantine and the need for all travelers coming to the State of Qatar to undergo a COVID-19 test in a medical center approved by the local Ministry of Health in the country they come from within 72 hours before their arrival in the State of Qatar.
Qatar authorities have confirmed that those who have obtained Covishield Vaccine in India are eligible for quarantine exemption at the time of entry into Qatar.
The Medical Director of Communicable Disease Center (CDC) at Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Dr. Muna Al Maslamani, says there is clear evidence in Qatar that the COVID-19 vaccines are offering high levels of protection against the virus and preventing people from becoming sick.
