Must visit places near al bayt stadium

Al Bayt Stadium, located in the northern city of Al Khor, is designed to represent the “bayt al sha'ar”, traditional tents used by nomadic people in Qatar and other gulf regions. Culturally iconic, Al Bayt Stadium will host the opening ceremony and match of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Even though the stadium is located quite far from central Doha, there are spots and destinations within the area that are worth checking out!

Ain Hleetan Well

Ain Hleetan Well is a historical site that leads to the settlement of the Al Mahanda tribe in the city. Local legends say that a group of hunters discovered its water source 150 years ago and claim that the water could cure illnesses.

The Al Bayt Stadium Park is as large as 30 football pitches with a huge man-made lake which is the home of a family of ducks. There are also children’s play areas, cycling and running tracks, exercise activities, boat rentals, and many more!

If you’re looking for a quick beach trip while in the area, the Al Farkiah Family Beach is in close proximity! The beach has picnic tables, benches, wooden beach umbrellas, and children’s play areas.

    • Sunday and Wednesday: 7 am - 10 pm (Ladies and children below 10 years old)
    • Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 7 am - 12 am (Families)
  • Entrance: Free

Al Khor Corniche

The Al Khor Corniche is the perfect seaside destination for a relaxing stroll. Enjoy the views and have a seat on the many benches in the area. There are children’s play areas too for the little ones to have fun!

Al Khor Family Park

The Al Khor Family Park is one of the largest parks in Qatar at 240,000 sqm. There are play and entertainment areas, greenery, sports areas, and even a zoo! This destination is a must-visit for families looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Note: Currently closed for maintenance, reopening date to be announced. On Tuesdays, only ladies and children can enter the park.

  • Timings: Everyday 8 am – 10 pm
  • Entrance:
    • QR 15 for adults for full-day entrance
    • QR 10 for children below 10 years for full-day entrance
    • QR 10 for people with special needs for full-day entrance

Al Khor Hill Park

Visiting this park will make you feel like you’re in a mini colorful village with the small different coloured cottages scattered around the area. Explore the hilly greenery, rest on one of the benches and have the kids enjoy the children’s play area. Don’t forget to take a picture with the tower on top of the hill.

Al Khor Mall

The Al Khor Mall is the only shopping mall in the area. You’ll find many retail shops, restaurants and cafes, cinema, Funville kids’ entertainment plaza and Lulu Hypermarket!

    • Saturday to Wednesday: 10 am - 10 pm
    • Thursday and Saturday: 10 am - 11 pm
    • Friday: 1 pm - 11 pm

Another family favorite is the Al Tawasul Traditional Park. Equipped with children’s play areas and benches surrounded by lush greenery and even a mini reserve for birds, this park is worth checking out!

This beachfront park is a ladies-only park where guests can relax and enjoy the cool sea breeze. Children below 10 years old can also visit the park. Al Qarma Beach Garden is fitted with play areas, wooden umbrellas, and benches.

Al Shu’aa Reserve

The Al Shu’aa Reserve is home to animal wildlife such as ducks, pigeons, goats, rabbits, even a few Arabian Oryxes! Some of the animals freely roam the area where guests can interact and feed them.
