Al Janoub Stadium, the first FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ stadium to be built is located in Al Wakra municipality. Owing to the pearl diving and fishing past of the area, Al Janoub Stadium's design is inspired by the traditional dhow boats.
Renowned late-architect Zaha Hadid's firm designed the futuristic shape of this 40,000-capacity stadium. The stadium opened on 16 May 2019 with the Amir Cup Final. It also hosted a match in the knockout stage of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup where Saudi Arabia played Qatar in a semi-final on 5 December 2019.

This beautiful stadium is surrounded by a park that was opened on Qatar National Sport Day in 2020. Visitors can enjoy the jogging, walking and cycling tracks, children's play areas, exercise spots, and the football area.

Abu Manaratain Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Al Wakrah and is located within Souq Al Wakrah. The mosque only has one minaret and is a great spot for photography lovers.
Another notable and famous structure reflecting the pearl diving heritage of the city is the Pearl Monument Roundabout. It is located near Souq Al Wakrah and was constructed in the 1980s. Do check it out too!
It's time to take your furry friends to the beach. This dog-friendly beach can be found just in front of the Al Wakrah Public Garden. This is a great spot for your dogs to have the time of their lives! The water is clear and shallow too.
