The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) on 16 September 2023 published a video that monitored cars for emitting loud noises in the Lusail area that might confuse or disturb road users. Lekhwiya and the traffic patrols also participated in the road checks. They monitored the vehicles and as per the officers, many vehicles were caught exceeding the permissible limit of vehicle tinting.

The officer clarifies in the video that zero/zero transparent tinting performs the same as shaded tinting and that it is scientifically proven. The darker tints obstruct the views for the driver and it is dangerous for the road users.

They announced that they had recorded 10,173 violations in the last eight months against motorists for tinting their cars above permissible levels.

Since the beginning of the year, the traffic police have registered 4,405 violations against motorists for their vehicles, creating loud noises that cause a disturbance to road users.
