The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of the Public Warning System, designed to send warning notifications via smartphone to the public. This system will be used to manage emergencies, crises, disasters, or other critical situations. These messages will be sent either to the general public in Qatar or to specific areas.
The warning message will appear in both Arabic and English and is accompanied by vibration and ringtone to capture the user's attention.

The Public Warning System underwent a trial run on 6 November 2023 notifying users of the Watan Exercise happening until 8 November 2023.
The Watan Exercise 2023 started today on 6 November 2023 and will run until 8 November 2023 where government safety and security entities will be performing training exercises to ensure readiness to face potential risks.
