The Ministry of Defence announced in a tweet on 5 November 2022 that the Pakistani navy will be providing ships for seaward security during the World Cup.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Qatar's Ministry of Defence and Pakistan's Ministry of Defence which stated the technical arrangements of the ships that the Pakistani navy will be providing.

The technical arrangements included the stipulation of responsibilities for both parties and establishing the Pakistani Armed Forces' contribution to the maritime security of Qatar during World Cup 2022.
