The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced the launch of a set of remote health care services by relying on digital solutions, including the issuance of medical certificates online.
This new service allows patients to request a medical certificate online, as the certificate is issued through the PHCC website, the patient can then download the medical certificate after entering their health card number through the link available on the PHCC website.
The Ministry of Public Health announced the closure of five private medical centers and referred them to the Health Prosecution for violating the decision to suspend some non-emergency health services in private health facilities, as part of precautionary measures and measures to combat the epidemic (Covid-19) and to ensure the safety of patients and medical personnel.
The Ministry had caught the violations during its inspection visits to health facilities in the country.

Ministry of Public Health today announced the registration of 830 confirmed new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as 146 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of recovered cases in the State of Qatar to 2070.
The Ministry explained that most of the new cases are due to expatriate workers who have been infected with the virus as a result of contact with individuals who have been previously infected – theses cases have been identified as a result of investigations carried out by the Ministry.
The Energy Center at the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), continues to monitor environmental conditions such as solar radiation, temperature, and humidity, which may, in turn, help Qatar anticipate the transmission of COVID-19.
Scientists at QEERIs Energy Center have highlighted that it may be possible to assess the risk of contagion through solar resource and meteorological monitoring if exposure to the right combination of sunlight levels, temperatures, and absolute humidity could reduce the viability of the COVID-19 virus.
In continuation of the procedures for the gradual reopening of the Industrial Area, which started with Street One, Street Two and al-Wakalat Street, the closed part of the Industrial Area from Street One to Street 32, will operate under new procedures that reorganize the exit and entry from Wednesday 6 May onward. These procedures will follow all precautionary measures specified by the Ministry of Public Health and take into consideration the health and safety of the residents and society.
This decision was preceded by proactive testing in the Area, transferring over 6,500 workers to precautionary quarantine facilities, and providing free, quality healthcare inside and outside the Area to everyone infected.
The Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with Primary Health Care Corporation, Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance, Laboratories, and Qatar University, will operate drive through swabbing hubs for COVID-19 at three PHCC health centres for two days, as announced in a post in PHCC's Twitter account.
The aim of this exercise is to conduct a community survey and gain more insight into community transmission and asymptomatic cases, which will, in turn, inform policy decisions. These temporary drive through swabbing hubs are by referral only.
The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), in coordination with representatives of its expat offices, launched an awareness campaign targeting corporate workers, including workers in recruiting companies and domestic workers.
The campaign included field visits to workers in the Industrial Area, Umm Salal, Al Wakrah, Al Duhail, and Al Thumama. In the future it will include other areas where expatriate workers are located. The campaign distributes instructions, brochures, and educational publications that focus on the preventive measures that must be followed to prevent the risk of infection with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The campaign also raises the awareness of workers on the importance of using the hotline launched by the NHRC, to receive and monitor any complaints they have regarding violations that may affect their rights, especially due to the repercussions of the new Coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19).
Ministry of Public Health today announced the registration of 951 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 as well as 114 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the State of Qatar to 1,924

The Government of India has decided to operate two special flights from Doha to India, according to a press release published by Indian Embassy in Qatar.
As per current information, the first one will be from Doha to Kochi on 7th May 2020 and the second from Doha to Thiruvananthapuram on 10th May 2020. The passenger lists for both these flights will be finalized by the Embassy on the basis of registrations made in the Embassy website for this purpose. Priority will be given to pregnant women, urgent medical cases, workers in distress, senior citizens as well as to other people who are stranded in difficult situations.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education released the sixth report on the distance learning system, including data and information for many important aspects that were measured about the effectiveness of the distance learning platform in school education in the State of Qatar, and the latest developments compiled until April 30, along with a review of several statistics and conclusions.
The report included graphs, statistics, and data on the total number of video lessons that were produced until April 30 for public education students, specialized schools, audio education and integration schools, in addition to daily and weekly assessments, and the number of lessons published on 19 YouTube channels for the stages from kindergarten to 12th grade and adult education.
The State of Qatar has affirmed its commitment to preserving the dignity of expatriates and ensuring the continuation of the decent work environment in the State of Qatar and protecting expatriate workers from the negative effects arising from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

MOPH today announced 640 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), and 146 recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Qatar to 1810. Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has warned that patients with high blood pressure may be at greater risk of developing severe complications if they are infected with coronavirus (COVID-19), therefore they must take more preventive measures to prevent this infection.
Dr. Mawahib Ali El Hassan, Acting Director of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at HMC's Heart Hospital said patients who have high blood pressure may be more susceptible to complications from COVID-19 and should take extra precautions to avoid contracting the virus.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has just announced the registration of 776 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) bringing the total number of positive cases in Qatar to date to 14,872, and has stated that 98 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of people that have recovered in Qatar to 1,534. All together there have been 12 deaths from the virus to date.
Qatar Olympic Committee on their official Twitter handle mentioned that it has extended the suspension of all local sports activities until the 14th of May in lieu of precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health (MoPH), provided officials from the World Health Organisation (WHO) with an overview of Qatar’s strategy to contain and curb the spread of COVID-19, which has focused heavily on contact tracing to isolate, test, and treat as part of breaking the chain of transmission. Qatar has received global recognition for its efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic due to having one of the lowest mortality rates in the world.
