Two hotel ships for World Cup fans to arrive in Doha on 10 & 14 November 2022

The Peninsula newspaper reported on 11 August 2022, that the first hotel ship for the World Cup 2022 will arrive on 10 November 2022 and will be officially launched and named at a ceremony which will take place on 13 November 2022.

The hotel ships are to accommodate 9,400 people through the 4000 rooms it is facilitated with. He also mentioned that the ships are in high demand and additional rooms are to be offered in the days to come.

The Peninsula article also reported that the ships will be offering fans with multiple cabin options like ocean views, balconies, luxurious suites and more. Fans will also have a variety of dining and entertainment options to choose from on board.

The date was revealed by Omar Al Jaber (Executive Director of the Housing Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy) in an interview with Qatar TV. The revelation of the date indicated the approaching completion of the accommodation arrangements for fans.

The Al Sharq newspaper had also reported that Omar Al Jaber had stated that all the accommodation projects are nearing their final stage; including the conversion of residential properties to hotels, and temporary housing arrangements that are done in collaboration with Accor.

It was also reported, based on the interview that other larger projects are also underway such as the fan villages namely; "Barwa Madinatuna" and "Barwa Barahat Al Janoub".
