Traffic accidents on the decline
Doha • More than 210,000 road accidents took place in the country last year, claiming 199 lives. Most of these accidents were, however, minor. The death toll in traffic mishaps in 2006 was 270, with more than 156,000 accidents taking place. In 2005, 206 people perished while the number of accidents totalled 93,000.
