His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior chaired the regular meeting held by the Council this afternoon at its headquarters in the Emiri Diwan.

After the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, stated the following:

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council listened to the explanation given by His Excellency the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments and developments to limit the spread of the coronavirus (covid-19), and the Council stressed the continuation of work with the measures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this epidemic.

The Council of Ministers considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - Approval of a draft cabinet decision on the terms and conditions of the part-time system in government agencies.

This system aims, within the framework of the state’s plans to maintain a strong, stable family that enjoys support and care, and to improve job efficiency, to provide more flexible options for Qatari employees to take into account their circumstances and needs, in particular taking into account family circumstances, as this system provides Qatari women with greater opportunities to achieve balance between the needs and requirements of caring for her family and children on the one hand, and work requirements on the other.

The part-time system is a work system whereby the number of working hours per week is reduced by half, and by no less than half the number of working hours per day.

Part-time work shall be at the request of the employee and with the approval of the government entity in accordance with the provisions of this resolution.

Second - Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs regarding the procedures for disbursing from the Zakat Fund account.

Under the provisions of the resolution, the disbursement of zakat from the zakat fund account with the national Islamic banks, and it is limited to the eight zakat banks, in accordance with the conditions considered legally.

Third - Approval of the State of Qatar's contribution to financing United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Fourth - Approval of a draft twinning agreement between the Municipality of Doha in the State of Qatar and the Municipality of Beirut in the Lebanese Republic.
