The MIA Park, which surrounds the iconic Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, is a popular leisurely destination for residents and visitors. It offers a variety of attractions, including cafes, art installations, picnic spots, play places for kids, and more!
The ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team has put together a comprehensive guide on what to expect for your visit to MIA Park.
MIA Park spans 68 acres and is open to the public. It is surrounded by lush greenery and walking paths. Visitors are welcome to walk, jog, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors in a serene environment.
MIA Park also has a crescent-shaped pathway that lines Doha Bay, offering a stunning view of the water and Doha skyline.
Richard Serra pays homage to the Islamic significance of the number 7 with this stunning art installation comprising 7 steel panels. It is located on the farthest tip of MIA Park and is backdropped by the Doha skyline.

An interactive installation to check out is the Folded Extracted Personified by Liam Gillick which are white panels with holes designed with colourful designs where visitors can pose. There are several of these installations scattered around the park!
Comprised of 17 limestone pieces crafted into a curved bench, Saloua Raouda Choucair's installation is inspired by Arabic poetry and symbolizes its growth and universal expression of people and culture.
Hidden within MIA Park is a small botanical garden where you can find information about the park's ecosystem of plants, trees, and flowers.
A large area of the park is dedicated to playgrounds for children up to 16 years old. Within the playgrounds are sitting areas for adults and guardians to relax while their little ones play.
Another fun activity you can try at MIA Park is to rent a bike! There are bikes of different sizes for kids and adults alike.
Water activities are available at MIA Park, managed by private tour companies. You can try kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and dragon boating!
If you're looking for food and beverages during your visit to MIA Park, you'll find several food trucks lining the MIA Park Bay. Each food truck also has seating areas in front where you can enjoy your meals.
There are two cafes located at the far end of MIA Park: MIA Park Cafe and Voute Cafe. Both cafes offer ample outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the sea and city skyline.
As MIA Park comprises a huge area, there are golf carts available for you to get around to save you time and energy from walking. How convenient is that?
