If you’re looking for a park where you can truly relax and play some good sports, check out Abu Nakhla Park! This clean and lovely park located in the Al Shahaniya Municipality is a huge and quiet place, built to provide recreational services for everyone who wants to visit and enjoy its beauty and amenities.
The ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team has listed down some of the things you can see and enjoy for free when you visit this park!
Note:
The Abu Nakhla Park has three entrances, and each gate has a security office. The main gate is located opposite the Abu Nakhla Health Center. There are ample parking spaces surrounding the park.
Upon entrance, you will see towering trees lined up on both sides inside the park.
Trees are labelled with their scientific name. So make sure to give it a read!
You will love looking at beautiful seasonal flowers in different colours and you will also find various plants scattered throughout the park.
As Abu Nakhla Park is a huge garden, you need not worry about finding a bench to sit on or securing a spot under a gazebo as there are many of these within the park. You can also relax or study under the shade of a tree.
Kids will surely have fun in the colourful playground that occupies a big part of the park. There are 24 slides of different heights and designs, swings, see-saws, monkey bars, climbing paths, and more!
Abu Nakhla Park has a huge fenced playing field for football, basketball, and volleyball. This sports area is available for all visitors from 3 pm to 11 pm on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a side entrance gate near this play area.
You will lose count of the many lamp posts inside Abu Nakhla Park. This is one reason why many choose to walk or jog here at night because the lamp posts not only light the area but also add to the beauty of this park.
You will see this bird feeder on your left when you enter the park from the main entrance gate. The water and seeds attract a number of birds in this area.
There are ample water coolers to keep visitors hydrated. The park has clean toilets for women and men, and there are lots of garbage bins reminding everyone to keep the garden clean.
The park has a nice skating area for roller-skaters and skateboarding enthusiasts, however, this spot is closed until further notice. Please note that the guards will not allow you to bring roller skates or skateboards inside the park.
