During a programme of Radio Qatar, Lt. Col. Saqr al-Kubaisi, Assistant Director of Capital Security Department, confirmed full compliance with the laws and rules established by the High Committee for Crisis Management on the developments of the containment of the COVID-19 virus in Qatar and the Ministry of Public Health, as reported by Al-Sharq.

Lt. Col. Al-Kubaisi explained that the number of people allowed in a vehicle is four people, except for families, as stipulated by law, so if this number is exceeded, a record is released for the driver of the vehicle and the persons with him.

With regard to the procedures followed when adjusting the violation of the number allowed by the vehicle, Lt. Col. Al-Kubaisi explained that the minutes of the seizure are released and this report is referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Then the violators are issued fines of up to 1,000 riyals at a minimum. This may be increased, if any of the violators have other procedures in the public prosecution.

Lt. Col. Al-Kubaisi also pointed out that the people in the vehicle must be complying with the preventive conditions and precautionary measures to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus from wearing masks and having the EHTERAZ app installed on their mobile phones, as the fine is applied despite the presence of the number allowed in the vehicle in case of violation of these preventive measures.
