Senegal scored its first goal just seconds before the end of the first half of the match thanks to the team's midfielder Ismaïla Sarr. The first goal was scored after a penalty was issued to Senegal.
During the second half of the game, fans were left on the edge of their seats as Ecuador's Moisés Caicedo scored a goal 67 minutes into the game, tying the match between the two teams.
It wasn't until the 70-minute mark that Senegal's Kalidou Koulibaly broke the tie and scored another goal for the team, ensuring its slot for the Round of 16 matches.
