The Ministry of Transport announced on 2 November 2022 restrictions to the areas that e-scooters & e-bikes can access during the World Cup.

E-scooters or e-bikes will not be allowed in Corniche, which is pedestrianised, and within stadium areas during the World Cup - effective from 1 November until 25 December 2022.

A map was also released to indicate the permitted and restricted areas.

The ministry also announced that companies that operate or rent e-scooters or e-bikes need to apply for a no-objection letter from the Technical Affairs Department of the Ministry of Transport. This will be a requirement ahead of starting operations to identify geographical boundaries and keep in line with safety requirements.
