100 clinics provided world cup stadiums

Ali Abdullah Al-Khater, Chair of the Supreme Healthcare Communications Committee at the Ministry of Public Health and Chief Communications Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation, revealed during an interview with Al Sharq news the health services that Qatar will be providing for fans during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

He explains to Al Sharq that the health services to be provided will be divided into two parts: preventive and curative.

The preventive section, in coordination with the Preventive Health Department in the Ministry of Public Health, will be in charge of inspecting facilities concerned with providing food and ensuring food safety, as well as diagnosing and combating infectious diseases.

The curative section will be the on-ground medical facilities and emergency response teams that will be provided in all the stadiums, fan zones, and accommodation areas. Al-Khater revealed that 100 medical facilities will be provided at all 8 World Cup stadiums. These medical facilities will be equipped to provide urgent and emergency care during match days. He further shares that 24/7 medical services will be provided in fan zones and accommodation areas.

Al-Khater also confirms with Al Sharq that fans will need to present their Hayya card to receive treatment.

Al Khater mentions that the World Cup will serve as an opportunity to showcase Qatar's top-notch medical facilities and services to the world.
