They say when the opportunity comes knocking, you need to grab it. One such amazing opportunity is to volunteer for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ which is happening in Qatar this year! FIFA has opened up 20,000 volunteer positions for 30 different roles, around 25+ locations around Qatar!
If you’re interested in doing just that, the ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team has listed down the step-by-step process on how you can apply to be a FIFA World Cup™ volunteer. Read on to find out!
You should be 18 years old or over. You can still apply if you are 17, as long as you turn 18 by 1 October 2022.
You should be available for a minimum of 10 shifts during the whole tournament.
You should be able to speak English, knowing Arabic is an advantage.

How to apply?
Step 1: Filling out the registration form - at this step you fill out the form to create an account and register on the portal.
Step 2: Verify your account and select the tournament (FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022™) to participate in volunteering.
Step 3: Here you need to fill out the online application form.
Step 4: After filling out the online application form, you need to take on the 'Trials'. Trials are online exercises to test your basic skills.
Step 5: After completing the 'Trials' you will need to book your face-to-face interview.
Step 6: After booking your slot, you will need to attend the interview for a sit-down discussion.
Step 7: Role offer; at this stage after the interview, you will be offered a role based on your performance. The final decision of what your role will be, rests with the volunteer team.

What are the rewards?
Volunteers will receive a certificate, gift and Adidas uniform kit. Apart from this, you can be proud of volunteering in one of the biggest football events in the world!
Can I volunteer if I have a disability? Yes, of course. In your application, you will be able to state any special requirements you may have.
Can I volunteer together with my friend or a member of my family? You and a friend or a member of your family can apply to volunteer for the same event. However, we cannot guarantee that you will both be selected to participate in that event.
Can I apply for more than one event? Yes. Provided the events are not at the same time, you can apply to as many events as you like.
What training will I receive? The type of training you will receive will depend on the tournament or event you have volunteered for. Training will include information about the tournament, your role and the venue you will be assigned to.
Do I need to find accommodation close to the venue where I am volunteering? Yes, you will need to stay somewhere within commuting distance of your venue. When applying, you do not need to confirm that you have accommodation.
Does FIFA cover my accommodation and travel expenses? No. You will need to cover your own accommodation and travel to the volunteer assignment.
How will I get from my accommodation to the venue during my volunteer assignment? During your volunteer assignment, FIFA will cover the expenses between your accommodation and the venue where you are volunteering. Additional information regarding transport will be made available in due course.
