The Education City Tram has launched its new Green Line on 29 July 2023. Travelling through key landmarks in the North Campus, like the Qatar National Convention Center, Sidra Medicine, Researchery, Premiere Inn - Education City, EC Community Housing, has been made easy.
You can access the Green Line through EC Stadium - North, located between West Car Park and EC Stadium.
Take the escalator that takes you down to the basement of the station's floor and walk down to the corridor to your left until you reach the Academy Station. Once there, your journey on the Green Line begins.
The line is unique as it passes through a main road. So ensure you drive safely, especially around Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street. The speed limit to follow is a maximum of 50 km/per hour. Watch out for signage that tells you of tram gates. Stop at the red lights that will warn you that a tram is about to pass by.
The tram, which has just reached the milestone of serving one million passengers, first launched with the Blue Line on 25 December 2019, which begins at Mathaf and follows the Academic Loop. The Yellow Line launched on 12 October 2020, running from Al Shaqab to the Education City Stadium, and passing Oxygen Park, Minaretein (Education City Mosque), and the Ceremonial Court, among other stops, during its journey.
