Tajikistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) faced each other at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on 28 January 2024 in a Round of 16 match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™. The match kicked off at 7 pm, Doha time.
Tajikistan's Vahdat Hanonov scores the match's first goal in the 30th minute, taking the lead to 1-0.
UAE's Khalifa Al Hammadi scored a goal in the 90+5th minute, equalizing the score at 1-1 at full-time.
Extra time was awarded but no goals were made, hence the match headed to a penalty shoot-out.
Team Tajikistan scored 5 goals from Akhtam Nazarov, Vahdat Hanonov, Ehson Panjshanbe, Rustam Soirov, and Alisher Shukurov. UAE scored 3 goals from Abdulla Idrees, Fábio Lima, and Ali Saleh.
Tajikistan wins in the penalty shoot-out against UAE with a 5-3 score and will proceed to the Quarter-Finals of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™.
