Syria defeated Tunisia 2-0 in Group B of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, in what is the competition's biggest upset so far. Doha is hosting the competition until Dec. 18.
Oliver Kawo opened the scoring for Syria in the 4th minute, with Mohammed Anz scoring the second in the 47th minute. Sandwiched between the two goals was a sending off for Tunisia's Ali bin Romdhane.
The win gives Syria their first points in the tournament, level on points with Tunisia but behind on goal difference. They will face bottom team Mauritania, while Tunisia will have to beat group leaders UAE to stand a chance of qualification.
