Tunisia defeated France during the final Group D stage match on 30 November at the Education City Stadium. The final score of the match was 1-0, in favor of Tunisia. However, France still holds the top spot for Group D and will qualify for the Round of 16.
Wahbi Khazri, Tunisia's striker, scored the sole goal for Tunisia during the second half of the game at 58 minutes. This was Tunisia's first goal for this year's World Cup finals.
At 8 minutes past full-time, France scored a goal against Tunisia. However, VAR replays show that the goal was off-sided and the goal was not counted.
Despite the loss, France still qualifies for the Round of 16 as it holds 6 points. Tunisia, on the other hand, fails to make the cut with 4 points, just shy of 2 points from Australia, the second qualifier for Group D.
