The national football teams of Saudi Arabia and Palestine will play a friendly in Doha on 9 January 2024 in preparation for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, which will kick start on 12 January 2024.
This is team Saudi Arabia's second friendly since their arrival in Doha to compete for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, a cup they already won back in 1984, 1988, and 1996.
The Saudi national football team will compete within Group F, which includes the teams of Oman, Thailand, and Kyrgyzstan.
Team Saudi Arabia defeated their Lebanese counterpart in a friendly, with a score of 1-0, in Doha on 2 January 2023. The Saudi team's first match in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 tournament will be against their Omani counterpart on January 16, followed by matches against the Kyrgyz and Thai national teams on January 21 and 25, respectively.
Team Palestine, on the other hand, will compete within Group C, which includes teams Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong. 14 January 2024, will see Palestine and Iran face off, followed by Palestine Vs the UAE on the 18th, to then conclude the group stage with Palestine Vs Hong Kong on the 23rd. Team Palestinian prepared for the tournament in a training camp in the Saudi city of Abha.
This is Palestine's third consecutive participation in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, following their first appearance in Australia in 2015, and their second in the UAE in 2019.
