Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah came in third place overall in the 46th edition of the Dakar Desert Rally held in Saudi Arabia.

The first part of the sixth stage of the rally was held in the Shubaytah region, extending over a distance of 549 km in a special stage and 209 km in a link stage, and the sixth stage concludes on 12 January 2024.

Spaniard Carlos Sainz topped the first part of the sixth stage of the rally, 4 minutes and 31 seconds ahead of Swede Matthias Ekstrom, and 5 minutes and 19 seconds ahead of Frenchman Sebastien Loeb, who ranked third.

Before completing the sixth stage tomorrow, Spaniard Sainz leads the overall standings, 16 minutes ahead of Swede Mattias Ekström, while Qatari Nasser Al Attiyah comes in third place, 21 minutes and 41 seconds behind the leader.

In the quad category, Frenchman Alexandre Giraud took first place, 42 seconds ahead of Argentine Manuel Andujar, and 7 minutes and 33 seconds behind Brazilian Marcelo Medeiros. Andujar continued to lead the overall standings, 19 minutes and 37 seconds ahead of Frenchman Giraud, while Brazilian Medeiros maintained third place with a time of 28 minutes and 32 seconds.

Eryk Goczal, from Poland, dominated the Challenger class of model desert vehicles, beating Spain's Cristina Gutierrez by 14 minutes and 3 seconds, followed by Poland's Michal Goczal in third place by 15 minutes and 42 seconds. Eryk Gokzal was able to temporarily extend the lead to 56 minutes and 38 seconds ahead of American Mitch Guthrie, and an hour and 22 minutes ahead of third-place Spaniard Cristina.

In the truck class, Czech Martin Macik had the advantage of the first part of the stage, with a difference of 14 minutes and 36 seconds from Dutch Mitchell van den Brink, and a difference of 39 minutes and 38 seconds from his compatriot Alice Lowprice, while Czech Masik continues to lead the overall standings, away from Dutch Janus van Kasteren, by 19 minutes and 10 seconds, while Lowprice maintains third place, with a difference of 43 minutes and 40 seconds from the leader.
