Run-over deaths rose last year
About 99% of all the traffic accidents in 2009 were of a minor nature, though there was an increase in the number of run-over deaths compared to the previous year, head of the Traffic Department Brigadier Mohamed Saad al-Kharji said yesterday.

Rent law likely to be extended
The rent law (Law Number 4 of 2008) which is due for expiry on February 14, is likely to be extended. The State Cabinet reviewed the law at its weekly meeting yesterday and took the necessary steps to issue a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 4 of 2008. The draft was earlier reviewed by the Cabinet and its recommendations were incorporated into the new draft.
