The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Qatar, on 19 June 2023, announced that based on Al-Ula agreement and the joint keenness on strengthening the bilateral relations, the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates announced the restoration of diplomatic representation between the two countries by resuming the work at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, and at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Doha as of Monday, 19 June, 2023.

The two sides underlined that this step embodies the will of the two countries' leaderships, and in the consolidation of the joint Arab action, to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly people.
H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received on 19 June 2023 a phone call from H.H. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the phone call, the two sides congratulated on resuming work at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, and at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Doha on 19 June 2023.
H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. H.E. also expressed the State of Qatar's aspiration to promote a partnership with the United Arab Emirates to reflect the depth of the fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples. The two sides discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries and the means to enhance cooperation in various fields to achieve the interests of the two people.
The meeting also touched on regional and international developments and many issues of common concern.
