The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on 30 March 2024 welcoming the International Court of Justice’s order for Israel to take the necessary action to ensure entry of food to the people of Gaza.

The statement was as follows:

The State of Qatar welcomes the International Court of Justice's order that Israel takes all necessary and effective action to ensure the entry of basic food supplies to the residents of Gaza without delay.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the war in Gaza Strip has created a tragic humanitarian reality, which continues to worsen day by day as a result of the obstacles imposed on the entry of relief aid, and the targeting of civilians, including children and women in the areas where aid is distributed. The Ministry also stresses in this regard the need to ensure compliance with the implementation of the order, including the opening of crossings, to avoid the famine that threatens the Strip, as well as to prevent the risk of genocide.

The Ministry also affirms that the horrific humanitarian reality in Gaza Strip, including the threat to the lives of civilians, requires the international community to firmly stand up to achieve a permanent ceasefire in the Strip and prevent the catastrophic effects of the war from spreading to the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
