Qatar launches National Strategy for Climate Change

H.E. the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani launched the State of Qatar's National Strategy for the Environment and Climate Change, during a ceremony that took place at the Sheraton Doha Hotel on 28 October 2021.

The strategy is a roadmap and one of the developmental strategies aimed at achieving the environmental development pillar and one of the main pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, in line with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.

The State of Qatar aspires to play a leading role in the region and the world through the implementation of a number of projects and initiatives that contribute to reducing the harmful effects of climate change and enhance the countrys efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25 per cent by 2030.

During the ceremony, H.E. the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior honored a number of state institutions and companies that participated in the strategy, with the attendance of a number of Their Excellencies ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and ranking officials at the Ministry from the Environment and Climate Change.
