Adopted in accordance with the Amiri decision No. 44 of 2008, the Qatar National Vision 2030's aim is very simple, it is - "to transform Qatar into a developed country, achieving sustainable development and securing a decent life for its present and future generations".

What does Qatar National Vision 2030 address?

The Qatar National Vision 2030 addresses five prominent challenges:

  1. The modernisation and conservation of culture and traditions.
  2. Taking care of the needs of the current and future generations.
  3. Manage the growth and expansion of the country.
  4. Development of the expat labour workforce.
  5. Economic and social development, along with environmental management.

There are 4 pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030:

    1. Human Development

    The first pillar - human development focuses on the development of the people of Qatar and enable them to form a well-doing community by providing them with world-class education and health systems.

    The main focus points under this are:

    • An educated population
    • A healthy population, both physically and mentally
    • A motivated workforce

    2. Social Development

    The second pillar - social development focuses on the development of a fair and caring society that plays a major role in developing the country locally and internationally.

    The main focus points under this pillar are:

    • Social care and protection of the people
    • A balanced social structure
    • International cooperation and development

    3. Economic Development

    The third pillar - economic development focuses on the development of the economy which meets the needs of the people and helps in providing them with a high standard of living.

    The main focus points under this pillar are:

    • Economic management
    • Responsible exploitation of oil and gas
    • Economic diversification

    4. Environment Development

    The fourth pillar - environmental development focuses on the environment such that there is a balance between economic growth and environmental protection.

    The main focus point under this pillar is:

    • A balance in fulfilling the development needs and also to protect the environment

    Overall, the Qatar National Vision 2030, is a roadmap to Qatar's future. It is guiding the State of Qatar to achieve 360-degree growth, in all major sectors and transforming it into a developed country!

    The Planning and Statistics Authority is supporting this vision and we are currently in the second phase of the National Development Strategy for the years 2018-2022. Qatar continues to deliver on its ambitious plans to ensure that the vision is achieved.
