The General Directorate of Traffic and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) released procedures on how to apply for an exceptional passage permit during the Corniche closure from November 26 to December 4 in conjunction with Qatar's hosting of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™.

During the period, Corniche Street will be closed to traffic in both directions.

Please note that exceptional permits are provided only to the entities directly affected by the closure of Corniche Street.

Conditions

• The access to the entity must be directly affected by the closure, without an alternate route except through Corniche Street.
• Request for the permit will be automatically rejected if there are alternate routes to the entity other than Corniche Street.

Documents required with application for Exceptional Permit

• A letter addressed to the General Directorate of Traffic - Ministry of Interior
• A copy of Commercial Registration/Establishment Card
• A copy of Vehicle Ownership
• Copies of ID Card and Driving License
• An excel sheet containing details of the vehicle’s number, type, and driver's ID number

Other conditions

• Request for the Exceptional Permit must be submitted through official appointed by the institutions, companies, ministries, or any such affected entity.
• The Request will be rejected if it is submitted personally without representing any entity.
• Receiving applications will be stopped 48 hours before the closure.
