Park House English School, one of Qatar’s oldest and most prestigious British schools recently celebrated the cultural diversity of its student body by holding International Week, culminating in International Day.

During International Week, Park House organised a wide range of activities and events where Park House families built national stalls andvisitors learned more about various countries and sampled different food. There was a concert with cultural performances from around the globe as well as a colourful Parade of Nations were participants wore traditional dress and their national costumes.

Mr Dougie Smith, Headmaster, said: “We are very proud of the diversity of our student body where we have over 65 nationalities at the school which makes Park House an incredibly interesting and diverse place to come to school. Respect is a key value we teach as we work to ensure that our students leave Park House as responsible, valuable global citizens and we believe that the British system is an excellent vehicle for delivering this.”

“Park House’s International Week and International Day are important events in the school’s calendar allowing parents and children to educate their classmates, and the wider Park House family, on the greatness of all of the countries that make up our community.”

Mr Niall Brennan, Director and son of the Founder, Mrs Heather Brennan explained: “As the world moves forward and integrates, it is important to remember and celebrate where we came from to allow us to know where we are going. Park House is a British institution and while we are not teaching our students to be little Britons, we are teaching them the core values of decency, respect and fair play, values that are at the very heart of British society and values that we hope are central to all around the world.”

Park House remains at the forefront of education in Qatar as it creates and maintains an environment where children are motivated, challenged and enthusiastic about learning, as well as creating a caring and kind learning environment.
