The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) announced on 7 April 2024 that the ministry's specialized team has recovered a sunken cabin from Al Ghariya area waters.

The cabin had sunken due to the bad weather that Qatar had recently experienced.
It was also mentioned by the Assistant Director of the Marine Protection Department, Mr. Abdullah Al Khulaifi, that the towing of the cabin was executed in a safe manner without causing any harm to the marine habitats and coral reefs of Al Ghariya.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that other cabins were also recovered from the beaches of Uraydah, Al Ghariya and Al Maroona.
