On November 28, 2023, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced the successful exchange of prisoners and detainees on the fifth day of the humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip. He stated that 30 Palestinian civilians, including 15 minors and 15 women, will be released in exchange for the release of 10 Israeli detainees from Gaza.

He explained that the list of those released from Gaza includes a minor and 9 women, one of whom holds Austrian citizenship, and 2 from Argentina, in addition to a Filipino citizen. They were handed over to the Red Cross.

Dr. Al-Ansari expressed, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the State of Qatar welcomes the agreement of the Palestinian and Israeli sides to extend the armistice agreement for an additional two days, expressing its hope that more progress will be made in the coming hours and days, leading to a cessation of peace and permanent ceasefire.
