A report by The Peninsula on 1 July 2023, stated that as per a Qatar Television interview by Project Manager at the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, Jassim Abdulrahman Fakhroo, Qatar will soon have a new public park with air-conditioned jogging tracks in Rawdat Al Hamama.

As per the official, “Rawdat Al Hamama Public Park is being developed over a large area to serve many surrounding areas and neighbourhoods, and will open soon.”

The report said, in the interview, the official said that the park will have air-conditioned jogging tracks. “It will have large green spaces with many trees from Qatari environment. There will be enough parking lots to accommodate a large number of vehicles. It will also have play areas for children of different age groups."

Abdulrahman Fakhroo said that central parks are bigger in size than neighbuorhood parks.

He said most of the central parks are equipped with jogging tracks and fitness equipment among other facilities to attract people of all age groups. “There are a number of central parks in Qatar such as Al Gharafa Public Park, Umm Al Seneem Public Park and Rawdat Al Khail Park in Muntazah,” said Fakhroo.

The future plan of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, as per the official is to "increase the number of beaches, develop more public beaches, open new beaches and build many new neighbourhood parks.”

It also aims at providing more neighbourhood parks and green spaces to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
