Al Gharrafa Park is another new addition to Qatar’s long list of beautiful parks. This is unlike any other park as it is the first air-conditioned park in the country.
As per the Public Works Authority "Ashghal", the park is located in Al Gharrafa on an area of about 50,000 square meters to serve around 3,000 daily visitors of all age groups. The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar announced the opening of Al Gharrafa Park to the public on 16th December 2021.

Yes, you heard it right, the jogging and walking tracks at this park are air-conditioned. As you walk into the park you’ll get attracted to tunnels covered in vines and flowering plants which provide shade and cooling to the walking and jogging tracks.
As per Ashghal, it,
“has provided an integrated cooling and air conditioning system for pedestrian and jogging tracks throughout the park, ensuring the temperature is between 26°C and 28°C”.
This also enables park-goers to enjoy it even during the hot summer months in Qatar.
The tunnels have a beautiful design that is inspired by the Islamic Mashrabiya-style structures as per Ashghal.
These are installed to allow air circulation inside. The solar panels on top of the corridor generate electricity and also work as a plant fence.
At the park, you can also enjoy cycling at the beautifully laid blue coloured cycling path. It goes around the circumference of the entire park. Will you cycle here?
There are two kids' play areas located in different areas of the Al Gharrafa Park. The children’s play areas are divided according to age groups covering kids of ages 2-5 years and 6-12 years.
The design of these play areas also takes into consideration children with special needs. You can find different equipment such as zip-lines, slides, monkey bars, swings, sea-saws and more here! How fun is this?!

Lush green lawns spread throughout the park provide the visitors with a much-needed space to relax and have a great time with family and friends. Bring your loved ones, play some catch and enjoy the cool evening breeze here!
There are four food kiosks located at the central area of the park. As of 22 December 2021, the food kiosks weren’t operational and as per the security staff at the park, they are due to open soon.
