On 15 February 2024, The Ministry of Interior Qatar announced on its social media platforms that the Corniche would be closed temporarily from February 15 until February 16. This is due to the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo 2024. The road will be closed from 11 pm on 15 February 2024 until 2 pm on 16 February 2024.
On the occasion of the "Doha Marathon by Ooredoo 2024", Doha Corniche will be closed to traffic from 11:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, until 2:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024. Please use alternative routes and follow the directional signs.

The Ministry urged all motorists to follow the directional signs and take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience. The Ministry also advised that it will not tolerate any violation of the road closure. Any motorist found violating the closure will face strict legal action.
