An announcement by the Qatar Public Prosecution on its official Instagram page on 5 July 2023, mentioned that His Excellency the Attorney General ordered the referral of 16 people, including 4 employees of Hamad Medical Corporation, for committing bribery, abuse of office, harming public money, breaching the freedom and integrity of tenders related to the state, and money laundering.
As per the announcement, the investigations resulted in the employees taking advantage of their job at Hamad Medical Corporation and the favouritism of certain companies owned by the defendants and facilitated obtaining contracts for supplying materials and medical services to Hamad Medical Corporation in exchange for sums of money.
After sufficient evidence was accepted by the accused, the Public Prosecutor ordered the transfer of the accused to the Criminal Court to punish them for what was attributed to their accusation.
