More than 150 German-speaking children and adults gathered onThursday, November 6th 2014 in Katara Cultural Village to listen to German fairy-tales narrated by well-known story-teller Katharina Ritter. The event was one of the highlights of a cooperative project realized by the German Language Centre Doha, The German International School of Doha and the Tariq bin Ziyad Independent School for Boys, supported by the German Embassy in Doha.
For two months the participating schools and institutions will be working with the theme of fairy-tales, in order to foster German language acquisition and cultural exchange. Fairy-tales of Qatar and the Arab world, recounted and illustrated by Arab students for their fellow students, is one of the currently running joint classroom projects in the institutions involved.
The project will run tilll 14 December and conclude with a final vernissage presenting accomplishments achieved during the event on 15 December 2014 at the Sharq Village Hotel.
