With the joy of the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan comes the excitement of Garangao for kids.
Garangao is an event dedicated to children. It is celebrated in Qatar and other countries in the Gulf region. It's a celebration which takes place on the 14th day of Ramadan allowing kids to enjoy the success of having fasted half of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Typically, this occasion is celebrated with kids visiting their neighbourhood houses, decked up in traditional Qatari clothes, as they sing along the "Garangao Garangao" song. When they visit the houses, they are given a handful of chocolates, nuts and candies, which they secure in their own creative Garangao goodie bag.
Many celebrations around Qatar make this festivity even more special, and the ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team is here to tell you where to find them.
