Qatar has many traditional handicrafts. Although some aren't practised today, others are in use even now. These various crafts are part of the Qatari heritage and identity. They were also used in the past as a way to adapt to and meet daily necessities.
In this episode of QTips, Hamad aka "The Qatari Guy" will tell you about some of these Qatari arts and crafts such as Al Sadu weaving, Al Khous (palm weaving), gypsum carving, pottery, and jewelry making.
Others not mentioned in this episode include rope making, Arabic calligraphy, embroidery, henna body art, wood carving, metalworking, and more.
