It's turtle hatching season in Qatar! Every year hundreds of baby hawksbill turtles hatch at Fuwairit Beach. This time, we got a chance to see these endangered babies make their way to the ocean!
The hawksbill turtle was classified as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 1982.
The hatching phase in Qatar takes place each year from the beginning of June until the end of July. During this experience, visitors will watch a team of environmental conservationists collect, count and measure baby turtle hatchlings before releasing them into the sea.
Watch our video and find out more about these amazing creatures!
