DESIGN & SUSTAINABILITY

Constructed using shipping containers, removable seats and other modular "building blocks", not only will this innovative, 40,000-seat venue have a remarkable design, but it will be entirely dismantled and repurposed after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Its parts will be used in other sporting or non-sporting projects, setting a new standard in sustainability and introducing bold new ideas in tournament legacy planning.

Located on the shores of the Gulf, looking across to Doha's dazzling West Bay skyline, Stadium 974 will be a spectacular venue for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ matches. The distinctive, boldly colourful and thoroughly modern arena echoes the nearby port and Doha's longtime maritime history.

TRANSPORT

Fans will be able to access the venue by using the Doha Metro and taking shuttle buses from the nearest station, which is on the Gold Line. The stadium is located 800m from Ras Bu Aboud station on the Gold Line of the Doha Metro.

LEGACY

Following the tournament's conclusion, the stadium will be dismantled and make way for a waterfront development for local people to enjoy. Stadium 974 (Ras Abu Aboud Stadium) will be the first fully demountable stadium in FIFA World Cup history.

Its seaside location offers a natural cool breeze to lighten the load on the stadium's cooling systems.
