The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), announced Tuesday that the UAE will host the matches of China against Saudi Arabia and Syria against Iraq in the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
China's match with Saudi Arabia in Group B will be held at Sharjah Stadium on March 24, while Syria will meet Iraq in Group A on March 29 at Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
The Saudi team leads its group with 19 points, one point ahead of second-placed Japan, and in third place comes the Australian team with 15 points after a 1-1 draw in the eighth-round match against Oman, which is ranked fourth with eight points, China is in fifth place with five points, while Vietnam is at the bottom of the standings with three points.
Group A witnessed the qualification of Iran and South Korea to the World Cup, where Iran leads with 19 points, followed by South Korea with 17 points, the UAE with nine points, Lebanon with five points, Iraq with four points, and Syria with two points.
