Pre-paid SIM card

Qatar has two network providers: Ooredoo and Vodafone. Both offer SIM cards that will allow you to spend on data, calls, and texts.

These local SIMs are readily available at Hamad International Airport arrival hall. You can also buy a SIM outside the airport at Ooredoo and Vodafone branches throughout Qatar, at malls, supermarkets, and even baqalas (neighbourhood stores).

Depending on the benefits and offers that come with the SIM, you can buy a SIM card starting from QR 10. The cards are pre-loaded with flexi packs to suit your needs — local data, local and international minutes, and SMS. Prepaid top-up/recharge starts at QR 10.

Free Ooredoo Hayya SIM for World Cup fans

Ooredoo on 10 October 2022 announced the launch of Hayya SIM for fans attending the World Cup. Available from 1 November 2022, Hayya SIM cards will offer visitors to Qatar 2022 local minutes, 2022 local SMS, and 2022 MB data, with the line valid for three days.

How can fans obtain it?

Visiting fans with a Hayya Card will be able to obtain a Hayya SIM at one of several dispensing machines at airports, ports, and land borders, in taxis, at metro stations, in hotels and at official FIFA fan accommodations, at Fan Zones, at Ooredoo shops, franchises and dealers and many more places. Visitors will also be able to get a Hayya SIM online at the Ooredoo eShop.

The Hayya SIM will be available in two formats; a physical SIM card and an eSIM. Visitors subscribing to their Hayya SIM at the Ooredoo eShop will be able to have the SIM delivered to any location of their choice in Qatar, while those opting to use an eSIM will receive it via email.

eSIMs will be activated as soon as the customer connects to the Ooredoo network, while physical SIM cards can be activated via the Ooredoo App or at the Ooredoo eShop.

2022 Gift for Qatar residents

From 1 November 2022 till 18 December 2022, Ooredoo’s customers residing in Qatar will enjoy 2022 benefits where prepaid and postpaid customers can unveil a deal called the 2022 Gift. They can activate the 2022 Gift offer via the Ooredoo App.

Free public WiFi

As soon as you land, you will be able to connect to a free WiFi network at the Hamad International Airport. Free wireless access is available almost everywhere in Qatar. From hotels to malls to restaurants and cafes, even some of the parks in Doha have hotspots that will allow you to access the internet for free. Most hotels, major shopping malls, and select restaurants in Qatar also offer free WiFi connections.
