Thief caught red-handed
A resident was caught by the police on Saturday, as he was trying to run away after stealing jewellery worth about QR9,000 from a shop in the Gold Souq. The incident occurred when a firefighting operation was going on near the souq that helped the culprit divert attention of the shopkeepers. The area was, however, surrounded by the police who was assisting the firefighting team.

World's largest gas-to-liquids plant by 2010
