CNBC Arabia, on 1 April 2024, reported that according to current account data issued by the Qatar Central Bank, Qatar residents’ spending on tourism and travel abroad increased in 2023 by 34.5% on an annual basis to about QR 60 billion.
As per the report, spending on the foreign tourism sector in Qatar during the fourth quarter of 2023 recorded the highest level ever at QR 17.8 billion.
The report mentioned that Qatar is ranked among the countries that export and spend the most on tourism abroad.
