South Korea played against Malaysia in a Group E match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ on 25 January 2024 at the Al Janoub Stadium. The match kicked off at 2:30 pm.
South Korea's Jeong Woo-Yeong scored a header in the 21st minute of the match, assisted by teammate Lee Kang-In, taking the lead to 1-0.
In the second half, Malaysia's Faisal Halim equalizes the score with a goal in the 51st minute, taking the score to 1-1.
Arif Aiman from Team Malaysia secures the lead with a goal in the 68th minute, taking the score to 1-2.
In the 82nd minute, Sout Korea's Lee Kang-In scores with a free kick leveling the score to 2-2.
South Korea's Son Heung-min wins a penalty in the 90+4th minute, converting it to a goal taking the lead to to 3-2.
Malaysia's Romel Morales scores a goal in the 90+16th minute of the match equalizing the score once again at 3-3.
The match ends in a draw with a full-time score of 3-3. Both teams will share the points.
South Korea will proceed to the Round of 16.
