The 24th Arabian Gulf Cup kicked off this evening at 7:32 pm at Khalifa International Stadium with the first match being held between Qatar and Iraq. Iraq won the match 1 - 2 against Qatar.
Iraq's midfielder Mohammed Qasem scored the team's first goal in the 18th minute and its second goal in the 27th minute of the first half, leaving the score at 0 - 2 in Iraq's favour when the first half ended.
When the second half started Qatar's midfielder Yusuf Abdurisag was substituted with midfielder Abdulaziz Hatem which turned out to be a good decision because he scored Qatar's first goal in the first minute of the second half.
Three substitutions in the Iraqi teams and two in the Qatari team later, the score remained at 1 - 2 in favour of Iraq at the end of the well-fought out match.
