Three categories of fans to be at FIFA Club World Cup matches in Qatar (CGTN)

FIFA Club World Cup will be held from 4 February to 11 February in Qatar and 30% fans will be allowed in the two stadiums - Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and Education City Stadium - where the matched will be played, as stated by Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Musleh, Senior Consultant to the Minister of Public Health, at a press conference that was held earlier today, according to AlKass Digital.

What are the three categories of fans allowed?

  1. Those people that have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine - a week after their second shot - without any tests.
  2. Those who have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19 after 1 October and have recovered can also purchase the ticket without having to be tested.
  3. Those who have to undergo tests 48 or 72 hours prior to a match, get tested at QNCC and clear the test to attend the match.

Dr. Al Musleh further added:

“All participants in FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar must prove that they are not infected with Covid-19 before arrival and then conduct a corona test at the airport before entering the bubble system here.”

All media professionals coming from outside of Qatar to cover the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup must hotel quarantine, said Fatma Al Nuaimi, Communications Executive Director at Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said at the press conference.
