A tweet by H.E. Zhou Jian, Chinese Ambassador to the State of Qatar, has said that the Al Khor Panda Park is ready to welcome the pandas - "Suhail and Thuraya".

H.E. the Chinese Ambassador also mentioned on 19 October 2022 that two pandas prepared for their journey to Qatar yesterday.

The pandas were earlier on their way to Al Khor to the newly built Panda Park.
As per China Daily Asia earlier, the two giant pandas left their base in China's Sichuan Province on 18 October for Qatar in a "cooperation program on the research and protection of the animal between the two countries."
Yahoo Sports reported on 26 September 2022 that China will be gifting Qatar two giant pandas as a token to signify the World Cup being held in the country.
