Have you heard? ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) just turned 15! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us reach this milestone!
If you’re new to Qatar, here’s a small snippet of what we are about. We are ILoveQatar.net, Qatar’s friendliest community. We create fun and engaging content about everything happening in Qatar for the community through our website and social media channels.
We promote various kinds of events and also closely work with some of the biggest companies in Qatar to promote their content. Different components make up the ILQ Network including Dine Out Doha, Qatar News, Qatar Jobs, Qatar Events and more!
If you’ve been following us for a few years now, you might already know a lot about us, but we are here you tell you some things you might not know about ILoveQatar.net!

Did you know that ILoveQatar.net was initially started by Khalifa Al Haroon, aka Mr Q, in the garage of his dad’s house? Yes, that’s where it all started.
Later, Khalifa Al Haroon, along with Bassam Al-Ibrahim (currently CEO, Ooredoo Oman), co-founded the company ILoveQatar.net in 2008 and today, we’re working out of a 2-floor villa, complete with dedicated studios for our content shoots - amazing right?!

The ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) logo is one of the network's most identified symbols and Mr Q calls it "The ILQ Heart". It wasn't always like the one that you see currently.
Over the years, it went through multiple iterations and has come to be what it is today! Which logo of ours is your favourite?
We are sure you already know about our mascots - Charlie & Cookie, our cute Yorkshire Terrier puppies, but did you know we have another friend living with us?
He’s a turtle named Ninja. Apt to his name, he is very fast on his feet and loves to spend time in his crib, munching on his favourite food - lettuce!
How we found him is a rather interesting story. One day, he just happened to wander into our premises, and we couldn’t find his owner or his actual location, and so we adopted him! He’s been with us ever since.

How many of these networks do you follow?
What makes ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) is its people. We are a small group of people who bring to you everything that you see on our website and social media channels.
We may be a small group, but we are a diverse group of people consisting of multiple nationalities including Filipino, Indian, Nepalese, Korean, Sri Lankan and Qatari!
We don’t have a typical working space. Our office is called the ‘villa’, and here's where we let our creative juices flow.
While we do have designated workspaces, we can also work out of anywhere in the villa, from a Red Bull area that has cool beanbags, from the many sofas available in different corners of the villa, from the kitchen to our gorgeous garden, terrace or anywhere that helps us focus on getting the work done.
The team helps each other create content, from being a part of the video process to starring in the content!
We are a multicultural team and we celebrate all kinds of festivals and events like Halloween, Christmas, Onam, Eid, Iftars as a team and more!
We have fun team outings and celebrations that help us bond outside of work. Our birthday celebrations are also special.
We experienced exponential growth in the last 3 years; especially during COVID-19. With so many rumours going around in Qatar about the vaccines, availability of resources and confusion around facts, we'd always made sure to provide fact-based and verified information on our website and social media channels by directly confirming it with the respective sources to give the correct information to our audience.
Our audience relies on us for accurate information and we make sure to give them that. We thank our well-wishers, audience and followers for helping us reach many milestones in the last 15 years!
We feel overwhelmed when we receive recognition for our hard work. Some of the awards we've received are a Silver Button from YouTube, for passing 100,000 subscribers, recognition for our work from Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Sustainability Week, Build Your House Exhibition, Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition and many more!

We are grateful that many prestigious organizations choose to work with us. We've worked with some of the biggest names in Qatar, including Qatar Airways, the Ministry of Culture, and Qatar Museums, to name a few.
We thank each and every one of them for trusting us to do a good job for them!
If there’s one thing we all collectively love at ILQ, it is our love for good food. We also have a snack table filled with yummy goodies which we love to munch on. Not only that, whenever a team member travels, they bring the team some must-try snacks from their country of visit.
We also have a 'Karak Day' every Wednesday at the villa, where we enjoy a nice karak and some pakoras with the team! And we inevitably order pizzas for birthday celebrations!
We actively recycle our collected paper and plastics actively. We have a strict no-plastic straws policy at work, and there are fines in place for people who don’t follow the rules.

We have a big, well-maintained lawn, many flowering plants, herbs, shrubs and a few trees.
In the herb garden, we grow herbs like mint and cilantro. We get to take them back home, too!
Did you know Mr Q, our founder & CEO, is a collector of all things Marvel, tech and geek?! He has an extensive collection of Marvel merchandise and his room is nothing short of a museum. He also collects Red Bull cans and has some of the rarest ones from around the world as part of his collection?!
At work, you can spot him conducting meetings wearing an Ironman mask sometimes!
We do everything from content creation to advertising campaigns and over the years, we have helped hundreds of people and companies reach the right audiences and spread the word to the people of Qatar.
